Eye Care is a Chrome extension that reminds you to take screen breaks and guides you through a short eye-exercise routine. This page explains what data the extension handles.

Short version

Eye Care does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. It has no server, no account system, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. Everything it stores stays on your device.

What is stored, and where

Eye Care uses Chrome's built-in storage.local API to save, on your device only:

Your settings — reminder interval, pace, which exercises are enabled, strict mode, sound on/off
Simple local usage stats — e.g. breaks completed or skipped

None of this data ever leaves your browser. It is not sent to us or to any third party, because Eye Care does not talk to any server.

Permissions

storage — to save your settings and stats locally, as described above.
alarms — to schedule the next reminder at your chosen interval.
Host access (all http/https sites) — so the full-screen reminder overlay can appear on whichever tab you're using when a break is due. Eye Care does not read, collect, or transmit the content of any page you visit.

Third parties

Eye Care does not integrate with any third-party service, analytics provider, or advertising network.

Children's privacy

Eye Care does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
